Art was a refuge during recovery
Matt started drawing while recovering from a concussion in high school. During his recovery, he spent his time learning how to capture emotion with graphite. After a year of practice, he submitted a portrait of his Grandfather in his WWII Navy uniform to the Congressional Art Competition. The portrait won the 5th District of Massachusetts in 2018 and hung in the U.S. Capitol Building for a year.
After the recovery, he continues to draw and particularly loves drawing people, capturing emotions ranging from hope to joy to sorrow. Please reach out if you are interested in commissioning a portrait.
